MEET YOUR ARTIST
Artemis | New York, New York
Artemis, one of many alters from system Unraveled Legion in NYC using any and all pronouns, identifies as an artist… specifically very much enthralled by digital arts. They work in Clip Studio Paint and typically will start and finish one or two pieces at a time after seeing or imagining something pretty and being completely consumed with the desire to draw it. [Artemis suspects that the other alters in their system have a similar process.]

As a practicing artist for nearly two decades, Artemis declares that Destiny Blue has been one of their biggest influences thanks to exposure to other digital artists on the internet as a young kid. Their art style was inspired by various Manga artists including Kohei Horikoshi and Sui Ishida.

They mention stagnation and falling into complacency with their art as a lingering worry which speaks to their dedication of getting and staying inspired by digital media. I’ll be the first to admit that stagnation can feel painful for an artist. We empathize greatly <3.

Our trans, genderfluid, ace/bi digital artist for September, Artemis, came into SQ’s focus while we were casually scrolling through queer artists' art on Instagram. Since then, we’ve learned a lot about their care and advocacy for the DID & Autistic communities [Dissociative identity disorder is a rare psychiatric disorder diagnosed in about 1.5% of the global population. This disorder is often misdiagnosed and often requires multiple assessments for an accurate diagnosis.] We thank Artemis for giving us the opportunity to learn more about their system, Unraveled Legion, as well as a few of their alters, and even about ourselves.
